  1. What is PDAS?

The Permata Dunia Advisory System (PDAS) is Multimedia University’s student advisory and support system designed to provide students with continuous guidance, care, and support throughout their university journey.

 

  1. What are the objectives of PDAS?

The Permata Dunia Advisory System (PDAS) is organised into six Halls, with each Hall serving as a student community that provides support, guidance, and opportunities for engagement throughout students’ journey at MMU.

  1. Who manages a PDAS Hall?

Each PDAS Hall is supported by a dedicated Hall Management Team comprising:

Together, the Hall Management Team creates a supportive and engaging environment for all Hall members.

 

  1. Will every student be assigned to a PDAS Hall?

Yes. Every MMU student will be assigned to one of the six PDAS Halls together with a PDAS Advisor.

Students will remain members of their assigned Hall throughout their studies at MMU unless otherwise determined by the University.

 

  1. How will I know my assigned Hall and PDAS Advisor?

Your PDAS Hall and PDAS Advisor information will be sent to your official MMU email before or during WIN Week.

 

  1. What is the role of a PDAS Advisor?

A PDAS Advisor serves as a mentor and point of contact for students throughout their studies at MMU. The Advisor provides holistic guidance and support on students’ overall university experience and well-being by:

 

  1. I have not received my PDAS Hall email. What should I do?

Please check your Inbox, Spam/Junk, and Focused/Other folders in Outlook. If you are still unable to locate the email, please contact the Student Lifestyle and Experience (STYLE) Department at style@mmu.edu.my.

 

  1. I received the email, but my Hall or PDAS Advisor information is incorrect. What should I do?

Please email the Student Lifestyle and Experience (STYLE) Department at style@mmu.edu.my with your Student ID, full name, and details of the discrepancy for verification.

 

  1. I received two PDAS Hall emails. Which one should I follow?

Please refer to the latest email, as it contains the most updated Hall and Advisor information.

 

  1. How is a PDAS Advisor appointed?

PDAS Advisors are appointed from among MMU’s academic and executive staff across various faculties and administrative departments.

They are selected based on their ability to provide guidance, support, and mentorship to students. PDAS Advisors are not assigned based on students’ academic programmes or faculties.

 

  1. I am not staying in the hostel. Do I still belong to a PDAS Hall?

Yes.

Every MMU student is assigned to a PDAS Hall regardless of whether they stay in on-campus or off-campus accommodation.

 

  1. How can I contact my PDAS Advisor?

You may contact your PDAS Advisor through the official MMU email address provided in your Hall placement email. Your Advisor may also share other communication channels with Hall members.

 

  1. When will I meet my PDAS Advisor?

You will normally meet your PDAS Advisor during WIN Week through your Hall session. Your Advisor may also organise meetings and communicate with students throughout the academic year.

 

  1. Is PDAS only for WIN Week?

No.

PDAS is a long-term student support system that continues throughout your studies until graduation. As a Hall member, you may participate in Hall activities, leadership initiatives, community engagement programmes, student development activities, and other university-organised events.

 

  1. Can I contact my PDAS Advisor if I face personal or university-related issues?

Yes.

Your PDAS Advisor is one of the persons you may approach if you require guidance regarding university life, personal well-being, campus adjustment, or other student-related matters. Where necessary, your Advisor will connect you with the appropriate university support services.

 

  1. Do I need to join my Hall WhatsApp Group?

Yes.

Students are strongly encouraged to join their respective Hall WhatsApp Group to receive important announcements, activity updates, and information from their Hall Management Team and PDAS Advisors.

 

  1. Can I change my PDAS Hall or PDAS Advisor?

PDAS Hall and Advisor assignments are generally fixed.

Requests for changes will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and are subject to University approval.

 

  1. I changed my academic programme. Will my Hall change?

If you change your academic programme within the same campus, your PDAS Hall and PDAS Advisor will normally remain unchanged.

If you transfer to another MMU campus, you will be assigned to a new Hall and PDAS Advisor.

 

  1. Why was I placed in this Hall? Can I choose my Hall?

Hall placement is determined by the University through an established allocation system to ensure a balanced distribution of students across all six Halls.

Students are therefore not permitted to select or request a preferred Hall, except under exceptional circumstances approved by the University.

 

  1. Who should I contact if I have further questions about PDAS?
